Colin Sackett’s wdnrm

Colin Sackett: wdnrm
‘The vignette, by its general appearance, presents itself both as a global metaphor for the world and as a fragment. Dense at its center, tenuous on the periphery, it seems to disappear into the page: this makes it a naïve but powerful metaphor of the infinite, a symbol of the universe; at the same time, the vignette is fragmentary… incomplete, mostly dependent upon the text for its meaning…’
Charles Rosen & Henri Zerner, Romanticism and Realism, the mythology of nineteenth century art, London 1984.
56pp 310 x 220 offset, cloth-covered casebinding, letterpressed spine colophon; edition of 10 copies, Axminster 2005
